travel in april

LS went on a long tour of Texas and parts of Louisiana - great photos, saw some wonderful art and more interesting areas than one would expect. it was a fun trip.
NW went to Catalina island for 5 days - beautiful place with a great history of plein air painting.
Nice to be back together for our monday painting sessions!

april spring-time

easter weekend - just finished up after big scape gaviota coast fundraiser at the bacara. LS is off touring texas and environs  during her break, while the other 3 of us helped hang over 230 paintings for essentially a day and half exhibit. a lot of work - but PZB sold 3 gouaches (yay!) and LS and NW each got an 'honorable mention' from the chris chapman, the juror.

beautiful weather - terrible drought. we are reminded that we live in a coastal desert, lovely as it is.

last month we had a great time spending a few days at nicole's cabin in pine mountain. beautiful area and great fun being with all the gals. we'll get more work up from that time soon.

saving daylight

Finally, longer days - still fairly mild weather. We did have a wonderful storm blow through which provided some dramatic clouds and Turneresque skies.
we all tried to capture the moment, but it changed from minute to minute.

march winds

we've had some wild and wooly weather - storms blowing through much of february along with some beautiful, warm days.
the école has been working along the gaviota coast, from gaviota beach to refugio, to el capitan and haskell's - in preparation for a 'scape' group show in april.
here's work from the last few monday painting sessions:

groundhog day

beautiful day at haskell's beach - long low tide, haze to sunshine. missed gigi with us. some of these may hopefully end up in the upcoming scape show for the gaviota coast/naples coalition.
we had as many 'do-overs' as we wanted. just keep trying to get it right.
